Our ball screw stock is straight to .010" per foot not to exceed .025" over the entire length. We can hold straightness on machined screws to as little as .002"/foot (screw diameter and length dependent). Temperature range for our ball screws is between 65ºF. (54ºC) and 300ºF. (149ºC) with suitable lubricants.

I'm kicking around the idea of putting some ballscrews on my 9x42 Bridgeport, possibly for a future cnc conversion but for now, just to fix some worn nuts with no more adjustment. Mcmaster sells a kit for 700 for both screws with nuts and the yolk. Mcmaster's part number is 29995A74. Pretty cheap for a bolt in deal.

Proper ball screws have two nuts with a spring between them to take up almost all slop. My 1977 model Boston Digital CNC mill has about .00056" backlash due to large screws with spring loaded nuts. A friend spent a ridiculous effort and money to convert a good BP to ball screws and add CNC. He has .002" backlash.

Thanks, Steve. The motor inductance is mh per phase, ohms resistance and are rated at 3 amps. The holding torque is 280 N cm which converts to about 396 oz in. I bought a 24v, 15 amp power supply specifically for this application, but could buy a different if there would be a significant performance boost.

I went to an auction recently and picked up a set of screws that turned out to be ball screws for a 9x42 Bridgeport. formatting link I am a little surprised about it, as, I thought, ball screws could only be used in CNC mills whose screws were held by stepper motors.
